For the protection of native wildlife, hunting seasons and regulations in Texas are in place for native game such as whitetail deer, turkey, waterfowl, upland game birds, and so on. Exotic game, on the other hand, were introduced to Texas for hunting or conservation and are not a part of the indigenous ecosystem, which means they don’t have the same restrictions as native species. The aim of this program is to promote the economy and raise conservation funds through hunting year-round.
