In addition to hunting, Cotton Mesa also offers freshwater bass fishing! It’s guaranteed a good time to spend with family and friends by the water. Cotton Mesa Trophy Whitetail has some of the best Trophy Bass fishing in the state of Texas. Cotton Mesa’s Bass lakes are situated on very secluded 4,200 acres, and we have over 80 acres of private Trophy Bass lakes which are also heavily stocked with Channel Catfish, Crappie and Blue-Gill Perch.
Our lakes have been under Trophy Bass Management for 30 years. Cotton Mesa Texas Bass have been crossed with the giant Florida Bass giving them that hybrid vigor which produces a great fight every catch. Texas Bass have an extremely long growing season and get big in just a few short years. Our lake record is 12 plus pounds, but 10 pounders are caught and released every spring. All our lakes are catch and release and you must have a valid Texas State Fishing License. Our bass spawn from February until the end of May. All of our Trophy Bass lakes are accessible in all types of weather and are fishable by bank or wade fishing.
